General Summary
Gary B. Weiss, M.D., Ph.D. received a Summer Humanities Award from National Endowment for the Humanities; a grant from National Cancer Institute; a grant from the University of Texas Medical Branch Cancer Center in Galveston, Texas; a National Student Research Forum Certificate of Special Appreciation; the Nellie Westerman Prize, honorable mention; and a grant from American Cancer Society Institutional Research Committee. Education
Dr. Weiss received his M.D. in 1971 at New York University School of Medicine in New York City, and a Ph.D. at New York University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences in 1972. He completed an internship in straight medicine in 1972 at the University of California in San Francisco, and a residency in internal medicine at the same institution in 1973. From 1973 to 1976, he was a Research Associate at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Washington in Seattle in 1977.
