Ines J. Sanchez-Rivera, M.D.

Education
Dr. Sanchez-Rivera received her Bachelor of Science in Premedics, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez campus, in 1989, and her M.D. from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1993. Her residency in internal medicine was completed at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in 1996, and in 1999 she completed her fellowship in hematology and oncoloyg at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to becoming the Oncologist/Director of Research for the Center for Integrative Cancer Medicine from 2004 to 2010, Dr. Sanchez-Rivera was the Chief of the Hematology and Oncology Service at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso. Dr. Sanchez-Rivera has authored and co-aurtored many articles in peer reviewed journals, has participated in research activities and is an institutional principle investigator for numerous studies and clinical trials.

Other Information
Dr. Sanchez-Rivera enjoys spending time with husband and two daughters, reading Hispano-American fiction literature, swimming, hiking, biking and is an avid RVer. She enjoys participating in cancer awareness education and activities in the community.
