Jay Schachner, M.D.

General Summary
Jay R. Schachner, M.D. received the American Cancer Society Clinical Oncology Fellowship Award in 1985. He was Chairman of the Cancer Committee at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas, and part of the Medical Oncology for Beaumont Oncology Association.

Education
Dr. Schachner was a graduate student at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. After completing medical school he completed a fellowship in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. In 1981 he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He then went on to his fellowship in Medical Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Schachner was on the staff at MD Anderson Hospital until he came to Beaumont in 1991.
